Community and youth outreach are important components of our operations. The Cecilia Concerts Community Outreach Program has two objectives:
The first is to foster music appreciation by making classical music more accessible to young people in our community. We all know how important it is to hear great music and to be part of an audience at an early age, so our kids' tickets program offers sets of complimentary tickets for each of our concerts to local children and youth in the community, and to local music students. Tickets for each concert are distributed on a first-come-first-served basis and must be reserved in advance by completing the form at the bottom of this page. Tickets are limited to 2 per family (1 child 16 and under, and 1 accompanying adult).
The second objective of the program is provide pre-concert performance opportunities to local music students before select concerts throughout the season. Advanced students have the opportunity to perform before large audiences, in a professional concert hall, and prior to performances by highly accomplished classical musicians.
This program strengthens Cecilia Concerts commitment to enriching lives in our community through the shared experience of extraordinary music. The program is made possible in part through the support of generous donors along with Support4Culture and the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture & Heritage.
